Be a Mission Pilot
Mission aviation is one of the most exciting ways to use your God-Given talents that I can think of. Of course, if you don't have any
God-Given talents, things would actually be a little MORE exciting.
For most people, the track to mission aviation service is a huge
commitment in and of itself. Mission pilots are highly trained professionals that have years of specialized training before they even reach
the field. A typical path goes like this:
- Mission and Bible Training - (1-2 yrs)
- Aviation Mechanics Training (1-2 Yrs)
- Pilot Training for Commercial license (2 years)
- Technical Evaluation
- Fund Raising (1-2 yrs typical)
- Technical Orientation (8 weeks)
- Language Training (6-9 months)
- FIELD SERVICE - Begin Field Orientation
Oof! I can't believe I did all that. But it is certainly worth it. After 7 years of
service in Peru, I am now part of the training process at JAARS Aviation for step numbers 4 and 6. Hope to see you there!
